30th Birthday

Help Chicken and I plan my 30th

Update: I am trying to add a little more structure to this spot and have started creating separate pages for each of the themes. These will predominantly be lists (how happy does that make me?)

Guys! This is extremely important…

I am turning the big three-oh in November and can barely contain myself already. The big concept is kiddies party (think candyfloss machines, jumping castles, musical statues, egg-and-spoon races – pony rides would be awesome). So at least the big idea is sorted – still a lot to go though…

I need your help in planning my party. I need….things, stuff, shiny objects and info like the following:

  • Who is actually attending
  • Who has an awesome idea for a venue
  • What activities/games should we include

Chicken has kindly let me hang this page off her blog and between now and then (the actual party) I will be updating it, gathering feedback from you, perhaps issue a poll or two (when democracy needs to count).

I will ping you an email [don't worry, you'll be able to unsubscribe if you really want to] when I update and need some new info from you but for the time being, leave us a comment letting me know what you think.

  1. I am super excited about this…just hope it doesn’t clash with my boat cruise in November.

Let me know the date so that I can plan.

    Thanks

  2. the 21st ;)

  3. Wooohooo, tequila – it makes us happy!!

  4. November? Damn! I saw this email and got you the perfect present at the grahamstown festival! And it even matches the theme!
How am I going to wait so long :(

  5. It sounds fab! Wish I’d thought of it for mine!

Pin the tail on the donkey, hide and go seek, musical chairs, apple bobbing, oranges and lemons, statues, 3 legged races, waterbomb fights, …………

Home made cone and candy helicopters, and windmills, zoo biscuits, lucky packets, liquorice strings, water lollies, fantacy birthday cake, jelly moulds, ice cream, and jugs of juice with lashings of hard tack!

Ill leave the high heels at home, in lieu of doing summersaults on the jumping castle, with pigtails in my hair and a coctail in my hand.

    Awesome!

  6. I think Louise has got it covered! Sounds like she’s a seasoned pro actually (suspect she might be gatecrashing random kiddies parties). I think the only thing left to add would be face painting and we’re good to go… ooh and maybe that game where you twirl around a baseball /cricket bat till you can’t stand up straight and then have to run and do something involving balance and co-ordination like throw a ball into a bucket, doesn’t really matter what as long as people are falling and looking spastic doing it.

I am so there like a bear :-D

  7. Fantastic ideas Lou and Nash!

Just a few more games: egg and spoon races; sack races; bobbing for apples – with a twist – after you have nabbed your apple – you have to pick up smarties out of flour! (hehee); pass the parcel with forfeits; etc…

Home made cone clowns; tequilla jelly orange skin baskets; sherbet…etc

    Howzat? :D

  8. Because Jen loves nature and all things small, we need to get a couple of midgets in the mix. I had a dream last night, that we were doing wheelbarrow races and those pint sized gems were the wheelbarrows. It looked AWESOME!!!
